Hope Chest Legacy is dedicated to bringing families back to the more traditional handiwork skills, hobbies and pastimes that have brought enjoyment and pleasure to countless generations before us. Our goal is to center these activities around the timeless treasure of a hope chest - the tangible wooden box that reminds us of our past, present and future all in one special place.
Whether preparing items for a current home or a future one, the female spirit has never found more enjoyment and pride as when working with her hands for the benefit of others. For boys and men, a sense of accomplishment can not be matched when they have created something by hand for family, friends or loved ones.
There is an inner reward that is unparalleled when our hands create something new and beautiful. Until you have experienced the joy and reward in working with your hands, you will never fully understand the beauty, depth and peace you can find by simple handiwork.
Hope Chest Legacy offers a wide variety of books, booklets, patterns, antique embroidery patterns, free simple project directions, old fashioned fun, toys and lots of insight and encouragement!

Why is handmade soap going out in each order?
Well - here's the scoop. Rebekah has been taking three college courses to learn more about business and how to make Hope Chest Legacy work to its full capacity. She is taking Marketing 101, Business 101 and Accounting 111.
As part of her Marketing class, she is required to start a fictional business and then create a marketing plan based on that fictional business. Since Rebekah has learned to make soap and has thoroughly enjoyed soapmaking, she decided to go ahead and start a fictional homemade soapmaking business!
Rebekah has been making soap for days on end and learning many MANY new things about oils, combination of oils, colorants, scents, soap molds and more. As preparation for her class project, Rebekah has been making batch after batch of homemade soap to find the best recipe and also to provide a wide variety of soap samples to her classmates and instructor when she gives her presentation in May. (The presentation is worth 40% of her final grade and the students in the class vote on whether they would invest in Rebekah's fictional soapmaking company or not!).
What Rebekah has found is she now has an enormous abundance of handmade soap samples! Although her family is enjoying the sweet scents and the rows and rows of curing soaps, there is a wee bit TOO many soap sample bars in her home.
This is where she has decided to bless and surprise her customers! In each order (where possible) Rebekah is shipping the handmade soap sample bars to her customers. It's a grab bag as far as which order receives which soap, but she hopes you will all enjoy her little freebies and the soaps will bring you a smile.
So far, Rebekah has made Lavender, Baby Powder, Bubblegum, Four-leaf Clover, Wildflower, Republican, Summer Sunshine, Lemon Verbena, Oak & Apple, Alyssum, Stormy Night, Sweet Pea and a plain unscented soap. Each soap has a different combination of oils too, which has been fun to learn about and see the results of. Rebekah has MANY more to make too! So expect soaps to be given away for months and months to come!
