Rebekah's Hope Chest 

This is the chest my father built for me using plain 1/4 inch pine plywood. The trim pieces are made from thicker plain pine stock.

My hope chest, shown below, has lasted intact and in excellent condition for nearly 30 years and has many more years of use ahead of it before it is passed onto a loved one. Plywood CAN be used, and it CAN be beautiful! So if your wallet won't let you use expensive woods - don't worry, you can still provide a beautiful chest for very little expense.
